Accessibility Statement
Clevaway wants ClevaPDF to be usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities.
1. Our commitment
We aim for ClevaPDF to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. Accessibility is considered in design, implementation, testing, and content updates. We welcome reports when something prevents or complicates use of the service.
2. Conformance status
ClevaPDF is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some content or functionality may not yet fully meet every success criterion. This statement is not a certification or guarantee for every browser, assistive-technology combination, or user-provided document.
3. Accessibility features
- semantic headings, landmarks, labels, lists, and native controls;
- a skip link and logical keyboard navigation;
- visible keyboard focus and alternatives to drag-only page reordering;
- responsive layouts that support browser zoom and smaller screens;
- status and error messages intended to be understandable without color alone; and
- plain-language instructions for file selection and processing.
4. Known limitations
User-provided PDFs and generated documents
ClevaPDF cannot guarantee that an uploaded source PDF or generated output contains a correct tag structure, reading order, headings, alternative text, form labels, captions, or other document-level accessibility information. Review and remediate outputs with a specialist PDF accessibility tool before publishing them as accessible documents.
Complex previews and large files
Page thumbnails and intensive file operations may be slower or less usable with certain screen-reader, browser, or low-memory device combinations. Accessible move and rotation buttons are provided where possible. If a task cannot be completed, contact us for help; do not send the confidential document itself.
Browser-generated interfaces
The operating system’s file picker and download interface are controlled by the browser and device, so their accessibility can vary independently of ClevaPDF.
5. Compatibility and technical specifications
ClevaPDF is intended to work with current versions of major browsers, operating-system accessibility settings, keyboard-only navigation, and common screen readers. Older browsers without modern JavaScript, Web Workers, or required PDF APIs may not work.
Accessibility relies on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SVG, and WAI-ARIA where native HTML alone is insufficient. JavaScript is required for local document processing.
6. Assessment approach
We currently assess ClevaPDF through internal self-evaluation, including:
- automated linting and accessibility-oriented component checks;
- keyboard checks for critical workflows;
- responsive and browser testing; and
- review of semantic structure, focus behavior, labels, and status messages.
No independent accessibility audit has been completed as of the review date above. We will update this statement after any formal audit or material change in assessment.
7. Feedback and assistance
If you encounter a barrier, email info@clevaway.com. Include the page or tool, what you were trying to do, your browser and assistive technology, and a description of the problem. Do not attach sensitive documents or disclose their contents.
We aim to acknowledge accessibility feedback within five business days and provide a substantive response or reasonable alternative as soon as practicable.
8. Formal complaints
If you are dissatisfied with our response, reply and ask for review by Clevaway. You may also contact the accessibility, consumer-protection, or enforcement authority available in your jurisdiction.
9. Review schedule
We review this statement after significant product changes and at least annually. The publication and review dates above will be updated when the assessment changes.
